Pavers and Hardscape in Tempe, AZ

Every one of Tempe's 14 pavers and hardscape companies designs and installs landscapes, but only 3 also offer maintenance, so this is a construction-minded group drawn from 53 landscape companies listed in the city. Turf is the usual companion, listed by 11 of the 14, and outdoor kitchens or fire features appear on 9. White Rhino Turf, matched to CR-21, installs pavers, travertine, masonry and walls and remodels pool decks along with its turf work. Greenheart Landscapes, LLC, another CR-21 design-build contractor, lists travertine and pavers, pool deck resurfacing and retaining walls. Walsh Hardscapes LLC focuses on pavers, regrading, concrete and drainage solutions; it could not be matched on the ROC list. Luxe Lawns notes that its hardscaping is provided through a sister company, which is worth clarifying before you sign.

Eight of the 14 matched an active Registrar of Contractors licence on the list dated 7 October 2026, and 5 hold a CR-21, R-21 or C-21 class, the ROC's hardscape and irrigation licences. Before you sign anything, look the company up by name or licence number at the ROC's free contractor search. Tempe is hot and dry; ask how the base is compacted, where runoff goes, which product is quoted and whether sealing is included, and check with your HOA first if you have one.

Common questions about pavers and hardscape in Tempe

Who actually builds the hardscape if a Tempe company uses a partner?

Ask before you sign. Luxe Lawns, one of the 14 Tempe hardscape companies, says its hardscaping is handled through a sister company. Find out which business holds the contract, whose crew lays the pavers, whose licence covers the work and who handles warranty calls. Get that business's name and licence number in writing.

How many Tempe hardscape companies are matched to an ROC licence?

Eight of the 14 matched an active licence on the Registrar of Contractors list dated 7 October 2026, and 5 hold a CR-21, R-21 or C-21 class. Search any company at the ROC's free contractor search, and ask a company that could not be matched for its licence number and class before work begins.

Can a Tempe company fix drainage problems as part of a paver job?

Some list it. Walsh Hardscapes LLC mentions regrading and drainage solutions, and 7 of the 14 Tempe hardscape companies also work on irrigation. Ask where water will flow once the patio is in, whether the slope is checked before the base goes down, and whether drains or regrading are itemised in the quote.
