Pavers and Hardscape in Surprise, AZ

Surprise has 17 companies that build pavers and hardscape, or 44% of the 39 landscape companies listed in the city, and they arrive at the work from very different trades. The list runs from pool builders and landscape management firms to a pottery importer, which makes it worth asking each one what share of its jobs are patios and walkways.

Arizona Rainfall, a pool, spa and outdoor construction company, does landscape design and outdoor living areas around its pools under a B-5 licence. Citiscapes, LLC, matched to CR-21, lists paver and travertine hardscaping, outdoor kitchens and pergolas, and says it prepares HOA approval packets. Elite Rock Masters, also CR-21, describes itself as a landscape and hardscape contractor working in pavers, travertine and pool decking. Briseno Azteca Imports, a family-owned shop selling Talavera and clay pottery, also lists travertine and concrete pavers, patio barbecues and hardscape, and is matched to CR-21. CareScape, a landscape management company, handles walls, walkways and hardscapes as part of its enhancement work under an A licence.

Fifteen of the 17 design and install, and 8 also run maintenance. Artificial turf and irrigation each appear on 11 sites, outdoor kitchens and fire features on 9, and landscape lighting on 9, so most can quote a full backyard rather than a single slab.

Ten of the 17 matched an active Registrar of Contractors licence on the list dated 7 October 2026, or 59% against 54% statewide, and 7 of them hold a 21 class. CR-21 covers residential and commercial hardscape and irrigation, R-21 residential only and C-21 commercial only. Check each company at the ROC's free contractor search. Surprise is hot and dry; ask about the base, drainage, the paver or travertine product and sealing, and confirm with your HOA before work begins.

Common questions about pavers and hardscape in Surprise

Will a Surprise contractor prepare my HOA approval packet?

Some will. Citiscapes, LLC says it prepares HOA approval packets, and 8 of the 17 Surprise hardscape companies offer landscape design plans that can support a submittal. Your HOA sets the rules, so check with it first, then ask the contractor what drawings and product samples it supplies and who handles resubmission if changes are requested.

How many Surprise hardscape companies matched a licence on the ROC list?

Ten of the 17 matched an active Registrar of Contractors licence on the 7 October 2026 list, and 7 hold a CR-21, R-21 or C-21 class. The others matched under classes such as A, B-4 and B-5 or could not be matched at all. Search the company at the ROC's free contractor search before signing.

Can a Surprise pool builder redo the hardscape around my pool?

Yes, several list both. Arizona Rainfall builds pools and outdoor living areas, and Elite Rock Masters lists pool decking with pavers and travertine. Three of the 17 Surprise hardscape companies list pools. Ask whether the old deck will be removed down to the base, how drainage away from the pool is designed, and which product is quoted.

Do Surprise hardscape companies also install irrigation?

Eleven of the 17 Surprise hardscape companies list irrigation work, the same number that install artificial turf. That helps when a patio will cut across existing sprinkler or drip lines. Ask whether lines under the new surface will be rerouted or sleeved, whether the controller needs reprogramming afterwards, and whether irrigation changes are quoted separately from the paving.
